Follow-up Definition

The majority of our patients come to The Clinica for an initial consultation with one of our experienced Consultants and a follow-up is not always required.

During the initial consultation, the specialist will conduct a thorough evaluation of your medical condition and address your concerns. Any additional investigation or diagnostic test that is required will be requested by the Consultant, and a personalised treatment plan will be prepared, tailored to your specific needs.

A follow-up appointment will be scheduled after the initial consultation if your Consultant has to:

• – Monitor your progress and recovery from the medical condition that took you to that Consultant initially;
• – Interpret the results of the tests that were requested;
• – Evaluate the effectiveness of any prescribed medications or interventions;
• – Identify any new or ongoing symptoms related to the same condition that may require additional treatment;
• – Coordinate the next steps of the treatment plan. Follow-up appointments are a crucial component of ensuring ongoing patient safety.

Follow-up consultations enable the identification of any misunderstanding, provide an opportunity for questions to be answered, and facilitate further assessments and treatment adjustments as required. An appointment is deemed to be a follow-up appointment if it is booked within 6 weeks of the initial consultation and if it is related to the same medical condition or disease that has brought the patient to the initial appointment with the Consultant at The Clinica.
