What is it?
Irregular periods, or menstrual irregularities, refer to variations in the menstrual cycle's frequency, duration, and flow. This condition can manifest as periods that are too close together, too far apart, excessively heavy, or unusually light. Normal menstrual cycles range from 21 to 35 days, with bleeding lasting between 2 to 7 days. Irregularities may occur due to various factors, including hormonal imbalances, stress, significant weight changes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid issues, and underlying health conditions.
