Paediatrics
Immunisations and vaccinations at The Clinica provide essential protection against various infectious diseases for children. These vaccines help build immunity and safeguard your child’s health, preventing conditions such as flu, measles, mumps, and whooping cough.
Immunisations involve administering vaccines that help the immune system protect the body from diseases. Vaccinations are crucial in preventing serious illnesses and ensuring your child stays healthy.
The consultation includes a review of your child’s vaccination history and an assessment of which vaccines are due. Our Consultant Paediatrician will administer the vaccine and provide aftercare instructions. Common vaccinations include MMR, DTaP, and influenza, among others.
Vaccinations are administered via an injection, usually in the arm or thigh. The process is quick, and while your child may experience brief discomfort, our team will always create a supportive environment to make the experience as stress-free as possible.
After the vaccination, your child may experience mild side effects such as soreness at the injection site or a mild fever, which typically resolves within a day or two. A follow-up appointment may be arranged to monitor your child’s progress and schedule the next set of vaccinations if needed.
Immunisations protect your child from serious diseases by building immunity, preventing outbreaks, and ensuring long-term health.
Yes, vaccines are rigorously tested and are safe for children. Side effects are typically mild and temporary.
Explain the process simply, and bring a favourite toy for comfort. You can also ask our Paediatric Nurse for a numbing cream to minimise discomfort.
Common side effects include mild fever, swelling or redness at the injection site, and slight irritability. These symptoms usually subside within a day or two.
It depends on the severity of the illness. Mild colds are usually not a concern, but it’s best to consult with your Consultant Paediatrician.
Vaccines such as MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) and DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis) are typically required. Your Consultant Paediatrician can review your child’s immunisation schedule.
